Cult horror movie Speak No Evil's soundtrack by Sune "Køter" Kølster out in May

Speak No Evil (2022) is a psychological horror thriller film directed by Christian Tafdrup. The critically acclaimed film has been praised on its directing and performances of the casts as well as its supple social commentary, tone and suspense. Followed by an American remake in 2024, Speak No Evil has gained a cult following around the world.

The movie's eerie soundtrack composed by Sune" Køter "Kølster will finally be available on vinyl and CD in May 2025. The awardwinning Danish filmcomposer is known for his scores for featurefilms, shorts and TV, with a masterdegree in filmscoring from Academy Of Music & Dramatic Arts, Southern Denmark.

Speak No Evil (Original Soundtrack) is available on limited transparent violet vinyl, classic black vinyl, and digipak CD. Contains a booklet with still photos from the movie and liner notes from the composer and the director. Release date May 9th, 2025.

"Absolutely crucial for the film is Copenhagen's Sune" Køter "Kølster's already mentioned, string-dominated score, which expressively alternates between a smoldering, disturbing discomfort and violent eruptive sequences. It is Kølster's score more than anything else that continuously draws the film's satirical drama into a psychological and mythological seriousness and horror, which is absolutely necessary if the film's final release in the grandiose, tragic sentimentality is to succeed, while Kølster's composition runs alongside Claudio Monteverdi's grandiose baroque tones. with Tafdrup on all of his feature films, Kølster has mostly done well in short films and documentaries, but nonetheless, Denmark in Kølster has a champion in film scoring, which is at an international top level." -16:9 filmtidsskrift

“The score for Speak No Evil is a bit of a rarity in Danish film, because such fiery, dark, rumbling, dissonant and hammering effective film music is not something we are used to. It is an absolutely terrific score.” -Planetpulp.dk
